Be in the world but not of it- are you a body or in a body?

Today we are going to explore the realm of the body, something that each of us share on this plane of existence.  If you pay attention you will see that almost everything that occurs is centered on what bodies are doing, or what they are needing.  As humans this is a basic fact.  We all need food, clothing, shelter, a means of conveyance to name a few of the most obvious.  The issue at hand is that we have as a planet moved into the 5th dimension, so now our interpretation and understanding of who and what we really are is growing to the point where we will be perceiving things in a different way, an expanded way.  This is called evolution, and it can occur in not just long expanses of time, but also in a quantum shift.  I believe that we are nearing this sort of opportunity and it is a perfect moment to explore some assumptions of what it means to be in a body.

Regular readers of this blog know that I support the belief that we are in essence spiritual beings having a human experience.  What does this mean?  We come here to this plane of existence for certain reasons.  Not all of these reasons are exactly the same for everyone, but one that I do know we share is that of healing.  Healing of what?  I would say mind.  It is healing of a seemingly split mind that appears to keep us separate in this plane but in fact is an illusion of epic proportions.  This is why it has been so difficult to truly see what has been going on because our known history is filled with it.  The acronym given my guides a while ago for healing is this :  Helping Eternity Access Living (H.E.A.L).  Healing means awakening from a dream of what we thought was life to what is actually life.

Now certainly we can say we are alive and experiencing things, so how isn't this life?  Isn't this the way it is supposed to be, us here and off in space or the ethers is the Creator, G-d, supreme deity?  This story makes sense if you are to believe that this is all there is, however there are plenty of us who are saying "I hope this is my last lifetime" or "I'm never coming back", etc.  These statements attest to the difficulty of existing with a certain level of awareness that we all have been experiencing.  I am saying that there is more to it and the vibratory changes on this planet are seeding an expanded paradigm of life the we each are co-creating in our own way.  There is great opportunity now to expand one's awareness and create the next step of expression of human on this plane.

Life is many things, creativity, mystery, known/unknown, changing, cycles upon cycles.  Things are perfectly imperfect and the reason for it is it provides many learning opportunities for each of us.  I continue to support the idea that each of us come to this existence for learning and for fun.  So why is it so often not fun?  It is because we have been operating at a level of awareness that until now hasn't allowed that too often, and it's called duality.  What are the other options available?  Well, let's explore a bit, shall we?

There are four stages of awareness that we each go through as we grow and evolve and heal the apparent split in our minds.  It is not a straight line of growth, occasionally we might go back and forth between two states until we can gain enough mastery of the new condition and that is fine.  What is important is that we continue to practice and move forward and upward on the spiral, instead of just going continually in a circle of the same cycle over and over.

The first state is dualism and it is the condition of the vast majority of existence we know.  Here the mind believes in subject and object.  I, me, mine.  You, other, not me.  It is the one most of us are taught, here is the world of mankind and G-d, Creator is somewhere else and you'll go there once you've left this life.  It is outside of you and you need something called religion to get there.  We have assigned to G-d the same qualities that our seemingly separated mind itself possesses.  This is why we believe the creator to be both loving and wrathful at the same time.  Love has no opposite, therefore we must be living within a idea of separation that we see all around us.  This is dualism and to progress and not remain on the merry-go-round we have got to have the intention to go beyond it.

The second state of awareness is semi-dualism and can be described as a "kinder and gentler" form of dualism.  This is where I believe that most of my readers and myself are.  We know that we are spirit in a body but we also know that we have to still operate in this world of seeming separation.  We have to provide for ourselves in some form and live our lives while also holding the thought that we are indeed able to create from our Source, that in fact we are never really separate from it.  If G-d is perfect love then everything else must come from somewhere else?  If indeed there is no real separation of any of us from G-d, Source, whatever, than this somewhere else must not be real!  Let that soak in for a moment, and feel the resistance to this claim of unreality of what we see with our senses.  That resistance is the small self mustering its arms to protect its version of reality, we all have it.

This takes us to the third step in the process:  non-dualism.  Non-dualism is a state of awareness that recognizes that one is dreaming an existence that is apart from the all-encompassing love of G-d, therefore we have the Universe/multi-verse saying yes, this is so.  Actually it is not.  I suppose it is like waking up in one of our nighttime dreams and being able to navigate it, knowing that it is entirely your creation, while being in a very heightened state of bliss.    Getting to this place of awareness takes dedication and likely many lifetimes in the illusory universe, whether here or somewhere else.  And yes, it applies to all beings in manifested worlds whether human or not.  Non-dualism is especially terrifying to most of us on an unconscious level because it means relinquishing any individuality or personal identity, now and forever.  I find it amusing how fond we become of ourselves, yet we cannot explain where we were before we got here nor do we know where we'll be after we are here.  It points to the conclusion that while we are here we are most often out of our minds!  (Kind of makes sense observing all of the insane behavior in the world these days).
Non-dualism supports the saying that the servant cannot serve two masters.  Either you are supporting the illusory world consciously or not, or you are serving the truth of yourself as an undivided part of the love from where we all sprang from and in actuality are still within.

The fourth and final state is called pure non-dualism.  To be in this state is to recognize the authority of G-d, Creator, Supreme deity (whatever term you prefer) completely.  Essentially you surrender totally what you thought that you were and re-join what you always were, at one with G-d.  G-d could not create anything that is not perfect or else He/She wouldn't be perfect.  Hence, once we realize who and what we truly are is perfect and is not of this world, we re-assume our right mind, and we are released from the illusory world once and for all.

All of this which I just illustrated is an invitation to pay attention and to seek for what really matters in life.  So much of our present world is built upon insane assumptions that are rapidly corroding the essence of the human journey into something it is not.  We are each responsible for this story, we are the problem and the solution and our intent does matter as we go through life.  Now I am going to include a passage from the book A course in Miracles that will tie it all together.  The course is said to be written in a pure non-dualistic format, so take this in and see if it rings true to you:

"The body is the central figure in the dreaming of the world.  There is no dream without it, nor does it exist without the dream in which it acts as if it were a person to be seen and believed.  It takes the central place of every dream, which tells the story of how it was made by other bodies, born into the world outside of the body, lives a little while and dies, to be united in the dust with other bodies dying like itself.  In the brief time allotted it to live,it seeks for other bodies as its friends and enemies.  Its safety is its main concern.  Its comfort is its guiding rule.  It tries to look for pleasure, and avoid the things that would be hurtful.  Above all, it tries to teach itself its pains and joys are different and can be told apart."

"The dreaming of the world takes many forms, because the body seeks in many ways to prove it is autonomous and real.  It puts things on itself that it has bought with little metal discs or paper strips the world proclaims as valuable and real.  It works to get them, doing senseless things, and tosses them away for senseless things it does not need and does not even want.  It hires other bodies, that they may protect it and collect more senseless things that it can call its own.  It looks about for special bodies that can share its dream.  Sometimes it dreams it is a conqueror of bodies weaker than itself.  But in some phases of the dream, it is the slave of bodies that would hurt and torture it."

"The body's serial adventures, from the time of birth to dying are the theme of every dream the world has ever had.  The 'hero' of this dream will never change, nor will its purpose.  Though the dream itself takes many forms, and seems to show a great variety of places and events wherein its 'hero' finds itself, the dream has but one purpose, taught in many ways.  This single lesson does it try to teach again, and still again, and yet once more;  that it is cause and not effect.  And you are its effect, and cannot be its cause.  Thus you are not the dreamer, but the dream."  (ACIM T.585-6).

Yes, we live in a world of bodies experiencing the illusion of separation, and having to make a choice between fear or love.  Can we allow ourselves to embrace the love that surrounds us regardless of the people or circumstances we may find ourselves in?  To remain in the illusion of what appears to be is to be a constant seeker, never realizing the Kingdom is at hand now and forever.  Eventually we will all figure it out, for waking is a process that must be done gently and with choice, never forced upon anyone by another.  As we come to the awareness that only love is real, we can set down our weapons and walk in peace to the only truth that is.

The fifth dimension, which is now here, is the threshold of a world that has accepted love as its basis, and thrown off the heavy chains of all forms of fear.  We are not at war with one another, we are coming to a remembrance.  The issue at hand for each of us is to come to the belief that we are within a field of love always, and that we can interact with it as we choose to recognize it.  There is no separation from this field, on this plane we are now beginning to realize that there is more for us to claim while we are here in a body.

More of the same, or something else?

The reason that I wanted to focus this article on the body is because it is common to all of us.  We are more similar than different when it comes to our most basic needs and desires.  Yes, there are many paths to the goal yet we could all agree that it is time to move into a better state of being, both individually and collectively now.  The statement "There must be a better way" is a great starting point for any of us to engage ourselves on a deeper level to create more of what we want.  Focusing on what we want and putting energy towards those ends for many has proven far superior to pointing out what we do not want to see or experience.   Simply put, energy follows intention.  Intention is the result of focus, and focus is the natural tendency we engage when there is a level of discomfort, discontent or dissatisfaction with the current experience.  If we want something else we have to push against the internal resistance we have in order to build the capacity to change.  Change means moving out of the known and into the unknown, something many of us are in fear of more or less.

If you are happy with what you have created so far and are willing to continue with it, that is an acceptable choice.  However, changes occurring on the macro level will require you to check in with that choice from time to time.  Much is afoot as many are now saying that the societies and systems that we live within, that we allowed into creation, are not enough.  If you are feeling some level of discomfort then it is your invitation to examine what you wish to do with this body while it is available to you.

The idea of "something else" within the energies of the 5th dimension is all about allowing more love into one's life.  This could mean more love of the body itself to get it into optimal functioning.  If you have that handled, then it could mean connecting more with your emotional self to get clear on what will bring you joy and start doing more of it.  As I have mentioned in previous writings, it is important to keep one's worldly life simple.  This assists us to not have so many responsibilities that we spend our time only on maintaining a lifestyle, taking away opportunities to explore new aspects of self.  It is about asking the question regularly "Does this feel like love to me?"  It requires moving more into awareness of what your heart is telling you on a daily basis.  Governments and businesses have a plan for your life- what you need to give them, what you need to buy from them.  Do you have a plan for what you truly want?  Are you on track?  Check your feelings.  The body is the instrument where we feel, think and sense our environment.  Are you paying attention?

It is going to take courage and determination for us to move into the unknown of 5D life, but our option is to remain in the current ways which do seem to be becoming more unstable because they no longer are supported by the expanded being that is available to each of us now.  I invite you to question the status quo of your life.  Is it enough or do you want more?  More is available if we are willing to take the risk that moving into expansion is blessed with many good things.  Become a questioner in your life, instead of accepting things as they are.  Dive deeper beyond the appearances of what has been. Explore with others, if you like.  Perhaps there is something waiting for you that will bring you unexpected joy!  Do not just listen to the claims of the small self, for it cannot possibly know all of who we really are.  Take your power back and live in the truth of the greater self that is emerging now within your life.

Blessings,

Robert
